It’s Time to Get Back to What Matters

The idea of breast cancer awareness month great. Breast cancer remains the second leading cause of death for women. Over 230,000 cases will be diagnosed this year, according to the American Cancer Society. Incidence rates have decreased since 2000, but we still have a long way to go.

I’m all for making donations directly to research organizations like the Breast Cancer Fund, Susan Komen for the Cure, and the American Cancer Society. But unfortunately, every October, a lot of companies take advantage of our willingness to help by selling us pink products that are either a) contaminated with chemicals linked to cancer, or b) end up contributing little to real research.

I’ve written posts in the past about pinkwashing (you can find them here and here). This year, I wanted to do something different.

It’s time to remember what October Breast Cancer Month is really about. So this month, CV Skinlabs is taking a stand. It’s time to use these next 31 days for real change.

Thinking Back on My Cancer Experience

With today being the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, life is too short to be constantly questioning our inner wisdom, to doubt and to not trust that in the end, it’s all happening for the greater good of everyone’s evolution. People need to see others rise up to their highest purpose? to feel permission to do the same.

Never underestimate how many people you are impacting just by “being” who you are moment by moment. We have one life to live, one legacy to leave behind, and a brand new day every day to choose strength and trust over doubt and fear.

Those of us who have lived with cancer share a special bond, yet each diagnosis is different and each experience unlike any other. Cancer changes us-how is up to us.

31 Days of Prevention-One Self-Care Ritual at a Time!

The best way to prevent breast cancer-and illness, in general-is to focus on self-care for you, your family, and your friends. We all need reminders to slow down, look around, and make the right choices for ourselves and our health.

Won’t you join us? We invite you to take the challenge!
