I have had many clients who were undergoing chemotherapy. Many of them were getting acrylic nails. There were 2 things that I noticed:
1. They can develop an alergy to the acrylic due to the extra stress on their body. Cease doing acrylic and be very aware of signs of alergy.
2. Do not work on their hands if you even suspect that you are coming down with a cold or infection of any kind.
